As we close the year, it is also time to say goodbye to one of our beloved teachers. Mr. Bryant Hurst came to St. Luke’s in 2011, and after 15 years of doing everything humanly possible to serve the youth in our communities, he and his wife are exploring new opportunities in Northern Alberta. In his time here, Hurst became known for his kindness, his compassion, his ability to connect with people and his incredible sense of humour! He is patient, smart, and he believes everybody deserves multiple chances. He’s not only an incredible teacher, he is a devoted father of four boys, a supportive husband and an avid sportsman. He loves the outdoors, soccer, basketball, and any hockey game that involves one of his four sons. Some of his favourite memories at St. Luke’s will be getting the students out to play sports, hiking in Kananaskis, ski trips, and camp. He loves his day-to-day conversations with students, but he really loved being able to experience the world with them. Mr. Hurst was a formidable leader here at St. Luke’s. He always had time to chat and connect with kids. He was an incredible example for countless students over his 15 year career here. He also made the teachers around him better. He understood our motto. Leave not one heart behind. He treated every student that came through our doors with dignity and respect. While we will definitely miss him, we know that whoever gets the pleasure and honour of working with him in the future, they will be incredibly blessed. Please join us as we pray for many blessings over the entire Hurst family. Thank you Bryant. You made our schools and our community better. We will miss you!! #farewell #lifeatstlukes #leavenotoneheartbehind #hurst
