🎄The last week before Christmas is always flurry of activity as students hustle to get last minute work in, but we also love to get in a little fun! 🎄Our Brooks campus filled the week with our annual gingerbread house contest , a Christmas mug exchange, and prayers focused on joy. We raised money for the food bank, and we are finishing the week with cleaning, organizing and of course, those last minute assignments. 🎄We are feeling blessed and ready for Christmas. 🎄 Merry Christmas!! 🎄 #merrychristmas #gingerbread #christmasmug #safetravels #leavenotoneheartbehind

Congratulations to Saffron Lintott!! Saffron is one of our talented grade 12 students from our Brooks Campus! She recently entered abd won third place in the Ecobrooks Art Contest. The theme this year was celebrating Pollinators. She sewed the deer out of an old sweater to ensure it was recycled material. She then photoshopped in her own pictures of nature and pop-cans. There are bees flying in the healthy grass, but the dead grass in slowly encroaching. It is creative, unique and has a strong message!! She won a 50 dollar gift card. Congratulations Saffron! We are incredibly proud of you! #talent #creativity #lifeatstlukes #leavenotoneheartbehind

Blessing bags are intended to lift spirits and support some of our communities most vulnerable, but the process of collecting and assembling these blessing bags lifted our spirits even more! Students at our Okotoks campus put together 34 blessing bags for people in our community ! Well done students!!! Thank you for collecting the items and organizing them. As a community, we are all better when we work together. “Whoever brings blessings, will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” Proverbs 19:17 #leavenotoneheartbehind
“We are better throughout the year for having, inspirit, become a child again at Christmas time.” Laura Ingalls Wilder Our High River campus celebrated the season by spending some time building gingerbread houses! It was a friendly competition, but we had incredible participation, lots of joyful banter, and the Christmas Spirit is alive and well here at St. Luke’s! Merry Christmas from our St. Luke’s family to yours! #leavenotoneheartbehind #lifeatstlukes #gingerbreadhouse

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE 6:15 am – December 08, 2023 All of our schools are open, but some rural routes might not run due to icy conditions and accumulation of snow. Although conditions appear to have improved, significant snowfall and drifting on rural roads has created unsafe driving conditions. We expect in-town buses to run in all communities, but we anticipate that road conditions might cause some to run late. Even where we initially determine that rural buses can travel, individual bus drivers have the authority to cancel routes if they determine that local conditions may be unsafe. In the case that a route is cancelled, Southland Transportation will contact families. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time. Please do not leave children unattended at bus stops, and please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the conditions. CTR will continue to monitor the road conditions throughout the day. For up-to-date transportation information, please click on “Bus Status” on the divisional website at www.redeemer.ab.ca

Learning can happen anywhere. Each of our campuses is unique in its own way. Our Okotoks campus is the most “traditional” setting with bright, modern classrooms and a central space for community, but sometimes the best learning happens in a nook or cranny that just feels cozy and special! Mrs. Faye is willing to help our students anytime, anywhere, even if it’s in the middle of the hallway! #crisscrosapplesauce makes reading graphs more fun, too! #learningisfun #ctrcatholic #lifeatsukes #leavenotoneheartbehind

Team work makes the dream work! Yesterday, our Brooks campus had a little fun, and also learned the power of teamwork and coordination! What looks like a simple drawing challenge brought a lot of laughter and a few lessons . Students had to work in a group to draw a happy face with each student holding on to tape attached to the marker. There was lots of laughter, communicating, and planning. It was a fun way to bond as a community, and take break from traditional studies! What a fun experience!! #lifeatstlukes #leavenotoneheartbehind
In Flanders Fields BY JOHN MCCRAE “In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.” Today, we remember the fallen. #lestweforget🇨🇦 #remember #thankyouthankyouthankyou
