Today our St. Luke’s Brooks campus celebrated Thanksgiving with a potluck lunch! The food was amazing and plentiful! The company was inspiring and welcoming! We are so thankful for our school family community. Thank you to everyone who brought in food. As we prepare for the long weekend we are abundantly aware of how very blessed we are!!! Food nourishes the body, but our community nourishes our soul! “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me, shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) #thankfulgratefulblessed #leavenotoneheartbehind #feast #community #potluck #share
Our Brooks campus wore orange to mark Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day. As a group we took time to learn more about the damaging legacy of Residential schools and the mid treatment of our Indigenous people. We also took time to learn about Treaty 7, as we acknowledged the land we have the privilege to live on. One major takeaway from the day was the realization that we have so many questions and so much more to learn. We are committed to fulfilling those knowledge gaps over time. Education is power. For their to be reconciliation there must be truth. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn together. #truthandreconciliation #leavenotoneheartbehind #everychildmatters #indigenouseducation
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is on Saturday! Please wear orange tomorrow to recognize this important day as a school! Every child matters. #truthandreconciliation #everychildmatters #leavenotoneheartbehind
School Cash Online is the program that we use for permission forms, graduation registration, and any other communication where we need consent from home in order to have your child participate in extracurricular activities! While it is fairly straightforward, we there’s always a chance for some confusion when using an online program for the first time. Here is a short reel to guide you on your home computer. Go to the division website-Useful Links-School Cash Online. If you are a returning family, you probably already have a login and here you can sign in and register your child. If you are new to Christ the Redeemer, you will register your family, verify that registration through your email, and then log into the school cash on line and register your child or children. You will need your child’s 9 digit Alberta Student ID number. (Should be on last report card/PowerSchool/D2L) We hope this helps! School cash online helps us eliminate the paper trail and acquire permission from our families to go on field trips, participate in extracurricular activities, and much more! #schoolcashonline #extracurricular #permissionforms #graduation #stlukes #leavenotoneheartbehind

Some of our students were able to participate in the Brooks Citizen Walk About to raise awareness for people with disabilities. It was a joyful and important celebration and demonstration. This walk celebrates the disability rights movement and shows love and support to people of ALL ABILITIES!! It was organized by Redi , an organization that is new to our area! Redi has a mission to work for inclusion for our citizens with disabilities, and the town of Brooks is so lucky to have them! C It was an honour to participate and a beautiful day to be outside!! #citizenwalkabout #supportallabilities #communityfirst #getoutside #diversityisbeautiful
Our SLO Brooks campus started their volunteer project with the City of Brooks today. We will be helping build their new dog park. We love all animals so this is a project close to our hearts!! Lisa Tiffin, Manager of Community Development came with us today to explain the park, which will be quite expansive. She also helped with clearing branches today. Debbie Forbez ,The Pet Nanny, is helping lead this Project as well and she came down to lead the students as well. The students are excited to work on this project to help support both pets and their owners. It is a legacy project that they can be proud of for years to come. #leavenotoneheartbehind #furbabies #welovepets #communityservice #maketheworldbetter

Here is a little known fact: St. Luke’s students are notoriously funny!!! Avery and Gracie gifted the amazing Ms. Jodi Parks with a cake that simply said “Sorry we were late everyday.” 😆 Thoughtful 🥰 and just a little cheeky, girls! 🤭 We wouldn’t have it any other way!! All Ms. Jodi had to say was, “I LOVE THESE GIRLS AND WILL MISS THEM SOOO MUCH!!!” Both students and teachers come to St. Luke’s for different reasons, but they all stay for the same reason. The people. 🥰 Congratulations on a successful year to everyone, and Ms. Parks…thanks for your patience! 🎂 🍰 ⏰ #leavenotoneheartbehind #lifeatstlukes #humourhelps #sorryimlate #cakemakeseverythingbetter #tardinessproblems #allisforgiven

As we wrap up the year, we are always astounded by the amazing humans we get to work with every single day! 💖 Emily Merchant came to St. Luke’s in Grade 10 for the small class sizes, and supportive environment. We have watched her transform in front of our very eyes! Emily is friendly and kind, funny and honest and she has a passion for horses that lights her up! 💫 We are so proud of Emily. She graduates from St. Luke’s this year, and has been accepted to Lakeland College in Vermilion in the fall to study Equine Sciences, and we know she will do incredible things! 🙌🏻 While Vermilion is 5 hours away, we know Emily will be just fine!! She is taking her young gelding, Finn with her, so she already has a best friend close!! 🐴 Congratulations Emily! Thanks for choosing St. Luke’s! We are proud of you! 💫🐴💖 #leavenotoneheartbehind #lifeatstlukes #studentsuccess #horselover #girlsbestfriend #lakelandcollege #faithhopelove

Young athletes often come to us because they need a little flexibility and some options to succeed at ALL the things they love! We admire the drive and determination that comes with a student athlete, and this young lady is an example of that! Hayley McGovern is another of our Rodeo Athletes that came to us with big dreams of doing it all. We are so grateful! She is graduating this year after takes classes here at St. Luke’s in Okotoks, and she also attended JT Foster in Nanton! We are excited to congratulate Hayley on all of her success here in the classroom and out there in the arena! We are proud of her!
