Our Brooks students in cosmetology got a tour of Lihn’s Nail Salon in Brooks today . They are working on a Salon Design Project . For the assignment, they have to focus on the AHS health codes as well as the atmosphere. Lihn taught them so much that we did not realize went into the lay out of a salon , the high standard of cleanliness needed , the piping system required , how to use the different technology and so much more . She also talked to them about courses needed to work as an estitician. It was great and we are thankful to Linh for the tour and her beautiful salon. It is always a pleasure to get out of the school and into our local businesses! Thank you for having us @linhnails_brooksab ! We had our annual “best day ever” at Hidden Valley today. We went spring skiing in February. Students , staff and chaperones had so much fun , lots of laughs , and soaked in beautiful sunshine . @We love Outdoor Education at @stlukesoutreach.ctr as it helps youth be in God’s beautiful creation, take safe risks , and be in community together . We are thankful to our chaperones and SJC’s Mark Harris for driving and our admin for supporting us to go! it’s days like this that make life at St. Luke’s so wonderful! #lifeatstlukes #leavenotoneheartbehind #snowday

There is something unique about @stlukesoutreach.ctr . It can be hard to describe. All schools have great teachers. All schools care. We believe that, yet still, we know we are different. We strive to be different. One of our alumni, Grace Luke Black, recently shared her tattoo with us. She believes St. Luke’s changed her life. She chose to honour her teachers and our school with this beautiful piece of art work. Again, something so unique, it needs to be seen to truly appreciate the beauty! Yesterday, our Brooks campus celebrated advent and Christmas with a turkey dinnner and a potluck lunch. The foods class made the turkey dinner staples. Students brought in desserts and so many treats. We are thankful to Constable Campbell, Pastor Ropp and all the students and parents who joined us and participated. We are blessed to be part of this amazing @stlukesoutreach.ctr community. Merry Christmas!🎄

Our students in High River had a little fun during film studies class today! Every year we do a gingerbread competition and we need you to head over to our stories and vote to narrow down our top three contestants ! This is an annual challenge and students are allowed to participate as individuals or as a group ! As part of our celebrate joy in Advent focus, we are crafting during breaks today. Students are making gifts for others and decorations for their home. We are never too old to enjoy a little crafting! It’s all a part of the Christmas fun!! We truly have the best here at @stlukesoutreach.ctr and it starts with our wonderful principal! Today, our Brooks campus was fortunate enough to have our always supportive principal, Mrs Woehleke lead a graphing calculator tutorial to students in all high school levels of math! She battled the snowy roads and gave us her expertise in all things mathematics!! The students felt way more confident after, and learned some useful tips!!
